The Faculty of Archaeology that continues the traditions of the Institute of Archaeology is the largest academic institution of its kind in Poland, one of the largest in the world. It has a staff of c. 100 (researchers, lecturers, technicians and administration staff). The Faculty offers instruction in most branches of modern archaeology and related sciences to over 1500 students from different areas of study. Researchers have at their disposal archaeological equipment and measuring tools and a laboratory for analyzing the materials, including ceramics or leather. According to one of the most prestigious rankings in the world, the Quacquarelli Symmonds World University Ranking (QS), archaeology at the University of Warsaw was ranked between 51-100 places. This is the best score among all disciplines at the University of Warsaw, but is also top of the subject ranking in Poland.
Candidates will be able to work in an experienced team of archaeologists of the Roman and Barbaricum provinces and take an active part in field research and the development of archaeological materials from provincial and Roman sites.
